High-Volume Dewatering

B Series Pumps

The B Series is eBORA's high-volume range, built for sites where the priority is moving large quantities of dirty water quickly and continuing to do so with solids in suspension. Six models span 245 to 3,350 m³/hr, and every one self-primes to 8.5 m, so the pump can sit above the water it is clearing rather than in it.

Where the B Series is used

Construction site dewatering

Excavations, foundations and basement works accumulate groundwater and rainfall carrying sand, gravel and site debris. The B Series handles solids from 44 mm on the B100 up to 124 mm on the B400 without a separate strainer stage, which keeps a pump running through the conditions that block clean-water units. Self-priming to 8.5 m means the unit can be positioned at the excavation edge rather than lowered into it.

Open-pit and underground mining

Pit dewatering demands sustained flow against modest head, and the water is rarely clean. The B300 at 1,360 m³/hr and B400 at 2,218 m³/hr sit in the range most pit and haul-road applications call for, while the B500 reaches 3,350 m³/hr for main sump duty. Abrasive slurry accelerates wear on any centrifugal pump, so impeller access and replaceable wear parts matter more than peak efficiency.

Municipal and stormwater

Storm drainage, sewer bypass and treatment-works overflow all involve intermittent, unpredictable loading. Automatic self-priming allows unattended restart after the suction line drains, which is the usual failure point in bypass installations. Sewage-impeller options are available for stringy sewage, fibrous material and organics where a standard solids impeller will rag up.

Flood response

Emergency work is defined by deployment speed and tolerance for whatever the water is carrying. Diesel-driven B Series units on wheeled or skid chassis can be positioned and primed without external vacuum equipment, and the larger models clear standing water at rates that make a difference within a shift rather than a week.

Selecting a B Series model

  1. 1

Select on flow first, then confirm the head. The B Series operates across a relatively narrow head band — 42 to 60 m — so if your duty point needs more than about 60 m of total head, the K or L Series is the correct range regardless of the flow you need.

  2. 2

Note that the highest-flow model is not the highest solids-handling model. The B500 delivers the most water at 3,350 m³/hr but passes 79 mm solids, while the B400 moves 2,218 m³/hr and passes 124 mm. If your water carries coarse material, the B400 is the more capable pump despite the lower rating.

  3. 3

Every model self-primes to 8.5 m, so suction lift is not a differentiator within the range. What changes with model size is port diameter — 100 mm on the B100 through 500 mm inlet on the B500 — which must be matched to your pipework to avoid throttling the pump at the connection.

Where the B Series sits in the range

Across all three series eBORA covers flows to 3,350 m³/hr and total heads to 295 m. The B Series spans 6 models, reaching 3,350 m³/hr and 60 m of total head, handling solids up to 124 mm. Every model self-primes to 8.5 m.

Reading the specifications

Total head
The total height the pump can raise water, combining static lift with the pressure lost to friction in the pipework. A duty point quoted only as a vertical distance understates the real requirement, sometimes substantially on long pipe runs.
Self-priming lift
How far above the water surface the pump can be mounted and still draw water without external assistance. All eBORA models self-prime to 8.5 m, so no vacuum pump or foot valve is needed to start or restart.
Solids handling
The largest spherical particle that can pass through the pump without blocking it. Rated in millimetres and set by impeller and casing geometry — it is a physical clearance, not a filter specification.
Capacity
Volume flow rate at the pump's rated duty point, in cubic metres per hour. Actual delivered flow falls as total head rises, so capacity and head figures should be read together rather than independently.

B Series questions

What is the maximum flow rate of a B Series pump?

The B500 is the highest-flow model at 3,350 m³/hr against 49 m of total head, with a 500 mm inlet and 450 mm outlet. It handles solids up to 79 mm.

Can the B Series handle sewage and solids?

Yes. Standard solids handling ranges from 44 mm on the B100 to 124 mm on the B400. Sewage-impeller options are available for stringy sewage, fibrous material, organics and contaminated site water where a standard solids impeller is insufficient.

How high can a B Series pump lift water on the suction side?

All six models self-prime to 8.5 m. Priming is automatic, so the pump does not need an external vacuum pump or a foot valve to restart after the suction line drains.

What drives the pump?

Diesel engines from CAT, Perkins, Deutz, Cummins or Yanmar, or electric motors from WEG, ABB or Siemens. Chassis options include skid-mounted, sound-attenuated enclosure, wheeled site chassis and static installation.
